Music students from A-M have had a busy schedule this month. They attended the MNAC contest on April 1 in Thedford, and District Music Contest at Burwell on April 23. Students scored well at both competitions, and learned a lot from the judges' critiques.
A highlight of the MNAC contest was that Jessica Carr received the award for Outstanding Flute Solo at the contest. Way to go, Jessi!
Students receiving a score of Superior for vocal entries at MNAC included: Megan Bartak, Jessica Carr (2), Shayleigh Coleman (2), Macey Flynn, Kensie Saner, Kenzie Russell, Emma Larsen, Sadie Stewart (3), Kyra Schmidt, Jenna Bartak, Harper LeFever and Sadie Lehmkuhler.
MNAC scores of Excellent were received by: Megan Bartak (3), Jake Bumgarner, Camden Coleman, Charli Blakeman, Jessica Carr (2), Trevor Duryea, Shayleigh Coleman (2), Macey Flynn, Josiah Griffith, Emma Larsen, Timmy Myers, Kenzie Russell, MacKensie Saner, Kyra Schmidt, Sadie Stewart, Jenna Bartak Sadie Lehmkuhler, Paisley Seda, Harper LeFever and Raylee Bachman.
Instrumental soloists and group members earning MNAC Superiors included: Trevor Duryea , Megan Bartak, Jessica Carr and Shayleigh Coleman. Instrumental groups/soloists earning a rating of Excellent were: Harper LeFever (2), Paisley Seda, Sadie Lehmkuhler, Taylor Shaw, Jenna Bartak (2), Jake Bumgarner, Josiah Griffith, Kyra Schmidt, Shayleigh Coleman (2), Kenzie Russell (2), Megan Bartak, Trevor Duryea, (2) and Emma Larsen (2).
Jessica Carr earned a Superior rating for her vocal solo at District Music Contest, while a rating of Excellent was awarded to all other vocal entries. Students included in these groups/solos were: Macey Flynn (3), Kenzie Saner (3), Shayleigh Coleman (4), Kenzie Russell (3), Raylee Bachman (2), Jenna Bartak (3), Taylor Shaw, Emma Larsen (3), Megan Bartak (4), Jessi Carr (3), Paisley Seda, Sadie Lehmkuhler(2), Harper LeFever (2), Kyra Schmidt (2), Rylee Myers (2), Jake Bumgarner, Josiah Griffith, Timmy Myers, Camden Coleman and Trevor Duryea,
Instrumental groups fared very well at DMC, earning seven Superiors and two Excellents. Those receiving a score of Excellent were: Jessica Carr, and Emma Larsen and Trevor Duryea.
